Thankfully I got a DVR of the night; and thank God for youtube.
(I was also there the night they aired it too... hehe).Kevin Dalyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11885446907718013966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054015418191023896.post-59985257236393822402008-04-21T19:23:00.000-04:002008-04-21T19:23:00.000-04:00The only opening I can claim is the revival of "Tw...The only opening I can claim is the revival of "Twentieth Century" at the Roundabout in 2004...

with Alec Baldwin...

and Anne Heche...

...

I had a really good seat!

TLITP is for me the most complete and gorgeous show I've ever seen. I saw it three times, but like you, I would have happily seen it again and again. I tried to record the Live from Lincoln Center broadcast, but of course, the tape quality is extremely poor.Mondscheinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07502709052738846128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054015418191023896.post-18957274083091619162008-04-19T18:13:00.000-04:002008-04-19T18:13:00.000-04:00The Beaumont is one of my favorite houses as well....The Beaumont is one of my favorite houses as well... b/c of "Piazza" and "South Pacific."

This is the first time I've seen the stage retract before and it was a blessed treat. It wouldn't have helped Piazza because of how it was designed and staged. There is a Live from Lincoln Center broadcast of that show. It's really a marvelous telecast, even if Kelli O'Hara was not a part of it.

There is really nothing quite like the thrill of the live theatre on Broadway - and I'm so glad you've become a fellow addict!

We'll get you to an opening!!!!Kevin Dalyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11885446907718013966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054015418191023896.post-2925865751269520212008-04-18T20:59:00.000-04:002008-04-18T20:59:00.000-04:00What a wonderful, thrilling story about the power ...What a wonderful, thrilling story about the power of theatre! Your passion and excitement really come through. I'm so glad you shared the story, and I'm so envious. I never got to see "The Light in the Piazza," and now, I wish I had. After seeing "South Pacific," I think the Vivian Beaumont has become one of my favorite theatres. There's just something about the thrust stage, the way it slides back to reveal the orchestra. (Well, I don't know if they do that with every show!)

You know, I wrote last week about the one-year anniversary of seeing my first show on Broadway, and I know I write about that experience a lot, or about what certain shows have meant to me. Going to Broadway is still thrilling for me. I love writing about the whole experience, from how I felt walking inside to standing at the stage door afterward. And I really love hearing about everyone else's memorable nights at the theatre also.

Hopefully, someday I'll get to an opening night!Estherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16076517542540421210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054015418191023896.post-89742595991402002782008-04-18T10:18:00.000-04:002008-04-18T10:18:00.000-04:00Oh my dearest, most beloved Vicki Clark. I don't even have my earphones plugged in - so I can't even hear "Fable" and it gave me chills.

WWOOOOooo.Roxiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00299458180773208538noreply@blogger.com
